Alice's Adventures in Wonderland
The concept of the two design solutions is based on the theme of Alice’s
differing heights throughout the book. Alice constantly changes in size,
which refers to the transformation the body goes through in adolescence.
The cover look reflects this fundamental theme of the story. The customer
can chose between being ‘Big Alice’ or being ‘Little Alice’ and so can chose
between two very different perspectives, walking through the flowers or
walking on the flowers. The use of wallpaper flowers rather than pressed
or drawn flowers reflect the perception of fantasy and reality considered
in this story; it brings the reader into Alice’s World.
